Cihan Barış is an internationally accredited yacht survey specialist and the founder and managing director of TOBA Yachting. He oversees yacht surveying and technical management processes on an international scale, primarily across Türkiye and Australia.

He holds the Large Yacht Surveying diploma issued by the UK-based International Institute of Marine Surveying (IIMS). He also successfully completed the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore certification in Australia — an advanced qualification obtained in tidal ocean waters and requiring high-level navigational competence.

Cihan Barış is experienced in damage assessment, non-destructive testing (NDT), yacht refit supervision, and shipyard technical inspections. Leading a multinational team within TOBA Yachting, he provides high-standard, safety-focused technical services to yacht owners, captains, and insurance companies.

Captain Peter Pope, MIIMS

Yacht Surveyor - Australia, Greece

Peter Pope is a specialist with over 40 years of practical experience in the maritime sector, actively involved since 1985 in yacht operations, engineering, and surveying. Since 2001, he has been qualified as a marine electrical technician, yacht surveyor, and insurance assessor, and is well known for his deep technical knowledge of vessel systems.

Peter has served as captain and chief engineer on superyachts up to 165 feet and successfully completed a seven-year circumnavigation aboard a sailing yacht he built himself. During this time, he also led numerous complex refit and repair projects around the world.

Based in Southeast Queensland, Australia, Peter is regarded as one of the region’s most trusted marine surveyors and is frequently appointed by insurance companies for damage assessments and accident investigations. His primary areas of operation are Australia and Greece, where he continues to provide expert surveying and consultancy services.
